While Attending John Jay College i was fasicnated by a article in the paper describing proverty in the Bengaldeshi community. they stated that thois group had overtaken African Americans and Latinx people to be some of the poorest New Yorkers . This led me to study South Asian poverty I first focused on Asian American who were bengali, then i started to turn my focus to Asian and Asian American women. and how they handle racism. The papers below represent the Journey that i have undertaken as a scholar over the course of a seven years.
